Event added by The Trades Club

(external provider) [URL: https://thetradesclub.com/events/unihydro]

JOIN Sophie Tankard and Stuart Bradshaw for a vivid and informative tutorial on the local water cycle of the Calder Valley.

Sophie will guide us through the core principles of natural flood management and explain how they work to reduce flood risk, while Stuart will take a more localised view of how natural flood management techniques have been adopted in Calderdale.

*About Your Speakers*

Sophie and Stuart have worked extensively with Slow The Flow, a charity working to educate the public in natural flood management, sustainable drainage systems and other renewable methods. Stuart is a retired engineer and former founding trustee. Sophie attained a research masters degree in natural flood management and is now a guest lecturer at Leeds Beckett University.

Sophie and Stuart have a passion for sharing knowledge and expertise in order to help inform others on local environmental issues. Please note this is a purely educational event and is not intended to be a forum for debate about the Hebden Bridge flood alleviation scheme.

To learn more about Slow The Flow and see how you could get involved, take a look at their website - slowtheflow.net
