Dance & Theatre

HX7 boasts a rich dance and theatre scene. Hebden Bridge Little Theatre, often partnering with the Hebden Bridge Light Opera Society, showcases acting talent through a programme of fun and thought-provoking performances. Budding actors often start with Lane Shaw Academy and S'MAJIC where young talents cut their teeth on the stage. For local actors there's also Mytholmroyd’s St. Michael’s Amateurs, from drama, and play to pantomime.

Calder Valley Swing represents the swing dance community in Calderdale. Mytholmroyd Community Centre supports private parties, DJ nights, community dance gatherings and exercise classes, as does Waterside Gym, hosting dance fitness and jazz sessions. For those interested in contemporary and experimental dance, Wainsgate Chapel's Wainsgate Dances host a wealth of activities, while Hope Chapel offers improv sessions alongside many others.
