Paul Murphy is a Bolton-born singer-songwriter and poet who writes songs for people who still believe the world can be better—even when the evidence occasionally suggests otherwise.
Before stepping into the spotlight with The Collaborators, made up of some of the best musical talent in the Calder Valley, Paul spent more than thirty years as an award-winning television director, with credits ranging from Brookside to Doctor Who to some of Britain's best-loved comedies. Storytelling has always been at the heart of his work but these days, those stories are told in spoken word and song.
His music and poetry is heartfelt and unmistakably human, exploring love, family, politics, the environment and the dreams we're all trying to hold on to. If you like your folk music and poetry honest and delivered with a generous helping of northern warmth, you'll feel right at home.
With special guest George Thomas
