Corn Doll Making Workshop
Join us at Wainsgate to celebrate the end of the harvest season through a hands-on workshop in the ancient tradition of corn dolly making with Helen and Lucy.
For centuries, people have woven and shaped some of the last sheaves of the harvest into beautiful corn dolls, carrying stories of the changing seasons, the land and local customs surrounding the gathering of the grain.
In this relaxed and creative workshop, you’ll work with natural wheat straw to create your own traditional corn doll to take home. No experience is needed; just come along, have a go and enjoy an hour of making in the beautiful atmosphere of Wainsgate.
All materials provided - no experience necessary.
Helen and Lucy are running two 1 hour long sessions - one at 11am and one at midday
