A history of the Ewood Estate: talk by Carole Adams

We will take a brief look at the long and varied history of Ewood Hall and its estate, with a few interesting facts thrown in along the way. There will also be many Johns, Henrys and Sarahs, but also some (hopefully) easy-to-follow diagrams to explain them all! 

Carole was born in the Calder Valley and grew up with her mum telling her little snippets about Ewood Court where she had lived with her family from the age of 9, She also talked about Ewood Hall. 

As Carole got older she began to wonder how her family came to be living in such a grand house… but more to the point realised she really didn’t really know much about either Court or Hall. She decided she did want to know … and this is the result.
