Event Organiser
Interested in local history? We are an enthusiastic group who enjoy exploring, understanding and making available the history of the local area.
From September to March there are fortnightly talks on a wide variety of local history topics. We meet at Hebden Royd Methodist Church on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm. Free to members and we welcome visitors (£4)
The Society has published a number of books which can be purchased from our website or from local bookshops.
We stage two or three exhibitions a year about aspects of local history in the foyer of the Town Hall.
At the Birchcliffe Centre the Society has a well-stocked library and archive which are staffed by helpful volunteers who can assist with research into family and local history.
The website has details of forthcoming events and reports of past talks as well as an easily searchable catalogue of the contents of the archive. You can also purchase books from the site. www.hebdenbridgehistory.org.uk
And you can interact with the Society on Facebook.
