William Byrd’s striking motet Sing Joyfully, composed at the end of the sixteenth century, sets the scene for Hepton Singers’ candlelit winter concert. The programme will present a rich choral tapestry spanning over four centuries, from Renaissance masters Tallis, Byrd and Lassus, through to the young shining light of the present classical music world, Anna Lapwood. As well as exquisite works by Charles Villiers Stanford, Igor Stravinsky and Howard Skempton, and dramatic works by American composer Morten Lauridsen and the Norwegian-born Ola Gjeilo, the concert will also feature the spellbinding music of Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir.
If possible please park at Heptonstall Bowling Club (there's a box for donations).
