Salus Trio is a York-based ensemble which takes its name from the Roman goddess of safety and well-being of both the individual and state. This is particularly pertinent as their guitarist had to leave behind his professional performing career and instrument in Ukraine following the Russian invasion. Their most recent concerts have been to raise funds to purchase a new guitar for him.
For this concert Salus Trio present an attractive, unusual, varied and multicultural musical programme featuring Chilean tonadas, Argentine tangos, and Brazilian choros alongside an intriguing selection of European works
Comments from the audience at a concert earlier this year in Ripon Cathedral:
“Salus Trio played beautifully, resonating with the Cathedral’s space and receptive audience. Come again!!!:
“A communion of sounds, a delightful concert.”
“So many instruments played by Salus Trio! I loved the combination of ceramic, wooden and metal flutes with the guitar.”
“Extravagant sounds, a surprising original sound world. Loved the tangos!”
It can be very chilly in the Chapel, it's worth bringing an extra layer (and a cushion!)
