The brilliant Kyra Norman will be coming from Cornwall to lead a workshop at Wainsagate Chapel on Saturday 16th November...
"Deep Time Moving is an experimental movement workshop, grounded in improvisation. Working with movement prompts and improvisation scores that Kyra has developed through ongoing choreographic, interdisciplinary work, Deep Time Moving, this will be a day of rigorous, playful, shared process, exploring how we experience time, and our relationship to place. Kyra creates a nurturing, inspiring workshop space: whether or not you currently identify as a dancer, if moving your body is important for you, then you are most welcome."
Kyra works in dance, performance, film & contemporary art contexts, as an artist, performer, choreographer, researcher, educator, facilitator and instigator of live events.
She has been exploring ideas and practices of movement, connection and place, through live performance, screen media, writing & participatory events for 20+ years.
Kyra lives on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall, UK.
This workshop is for anyone with a curiosity about the themes that Deep Time Moving touches on: movement, connection, our relationship to place, deep time, geology, climate… and a commitment to engaging in a shared rigorous, physical process of enquiry. Experienced dancers are welcome, so too are the dance-curious – you don’t need formal dance training to take part: suitable for all ages, bodies, backgrounds.
