Rianne Downey

Born in Bellshill, Glasgow, Rianne Downey is a 26-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter who rose to fame after her acoustic covers went viral during the pandemic. Originally a busker on the streets of Glasgow, she moved to Liverpool in 2022 to further her career, eventually becoming a regular collaborator for Paul Heaton. Her partnership with Heaton has seen her perform on major stages, including the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. Her music, a blend of country, folk, and pop, often draws from personal experiences and has earned her accolades such as Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Scottish Music Awards.

In October 2025, Downey released her highly anticipated debut album, The Consequence of Love, which was recorded at Bear Creek Studio in Seattle with producer Ryan Hadlock. The album, described as a 'coming-of-age' record, features standout tracks Good in Goodbye and The Song of Old Glencoe. The album reached #1 on the UK Country Charts.
