Personal memories and feelings concerning our uncertain future are explored in this collection of paintings in which ‘the garden’ serves as an ironic metaphor for our troubled world.  A child’s journey into adulthood has been a recurrent theme for many years and is perhaps the most consistent focus in this exhibition.

Myers draws on a wide source of imagery and reference: local observations, childhood memories, social and political questioning, media and news imagery, literature and art history.

Large scale dramatic oil paintings sit alongside more intimate small watercolours.  Whatever the medium, each painting contrasts a sense of beauty with questions, backstories and tension.
