Old Town Bowling Club: Try Crown Green Bowling event

Would you like to have a go at Crown Green Bowling?

On Saturday 26th April 2025, Old Town Bowling Club is holding a open day for anyone who would like to try Crown Green Bowling. All equipment will be provided, all you need is to wear flat shoes on the bowling green.

From 10am to 12noon there will be fun bowling run by qualified coaches from Bowls Buddies (www.bowlsbuddies.com) along with more serious try your hand at Crown Green bowling sessions led by seasoned members from Old Town Bowling Club.

And from 1pm to 3pm we’ll run a fun and friendly bowling competition.

You can drop in and out at any time during the day. Whether you just want to do something a bit different for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning, or you’re interested in learning how to play, everyone is welcome.

If you’ve ever wanted to have a go at Crown Green bowling, this is your chance. You can join the fun at Wadsworth Community Centre, Billy Lane, Old Town, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8RY.

Old Town Bowling Club run a bowls academy throughout summer on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12noon (weather permitting). The sessions are suitable for everyone, whether they’re new to bowling, thinking of returning to the game, or just want a bit of practice.

The academy offers free tuition, free equipment and all ages, abilities and levels of experience welcome. No need to book, just come on down to the club.
