Friends of High Hirst Woodmeadow are holding a conservation work day at High Hirst Woodmeadow on Saturday 21 June. This is a great opportunity to make a positive contribution to a local, environmental project while enjoying practical activities and friendly chats in a beautiful location. There are a number of activities available and you can drop in for all or just some of the session.
Bring gloves, trowels, appropriate clothing and refreshments. Remember your suncream, hat and lots of water.
We'll be doing some or all of the following:
* mulching fruit trees
* pulling thistles
* flattening mole hills
* Weeding the entrance paths
* checking on the coppiced trees and the fascines
* Enjoying our packed lunch and thermos of tea together
