Capturing Atmopshere- Photowalk and Talk with Charlie Meecham
Event added by IOU Creation Centre and Active Hub
Two locations. One changing landscape.
WALK IT. EXPERIENCE IT. CAPTURE YOUR OWN.
Join photographer Charlie Meecham for a journey through the South Pennine landscape that has inspired his work for over 50 years.
Explore two photographic locations at Midgehole, including the autumn woodland landscapes of his South Pennine Series and the site of his iconic photograph used for Joy Division's Atmosphere.
Charlie will share the stories behind his images, how the landscape has changed and how he captures the atmosphere of a place. Bring your camera or phone and create your own photographs along the way.
We'll return to the Blue Pig for an illustrated artist talk exploring Charlie's landscape photography and his extraordinary 50-year relationship with IOU.
Good to know
The walks involve steep, uneven terrain and are not accessible. The Blue Pig artist talk can be attended separately, although the venue has rough approach paths and limited toilet accessibility. See the ticket link for all information and an overview of each walk & route.
