We are Thread Collective, a textile arts organisation that brings people together through creativity. We run craft socials and workshops throughout the area and have recently taken on leading the Calderdale part of the Calico Dress Project, inspired by Kirstie Macleod’s world-renowned Red Dress.
We’re inviting everyone in Calderdale to contribute to the Calico Dress by stitching a small patch that tells a snippet of their story, history, identity, or what our local area means to them. Patches will be sewn onto the Calico Dress, creating a community art piece that celebrates the wonderful Calderdale community. The project is open to everyone, and no prior stitching experience is needed.
Join our free workshops to stitch your patch. Refreshments and materials are provided.
