Rough Spun Sessions Open Mic

Rough Spun Sessions is a weekly open mic night in Hebden, every Thursday at the Mill Bar, Hebden Bridge’s newest venue.

Converted from a former textile mill overlooking St George’s Square here in ‘Trouser Town’, the vaulted ceilings and big windows at Mill Bar give an airy, reverberant space that it’s super excited to play in. We don’t have many of those around here.

Tech stuff for the musicians… We have so much talent in this valley, it deserves a real gig setup to play in, so here’s what we can lend you for the night:

a Fender Strat with a 100watt Trace Elliot valve amp;
acoustic guitar;
acoustic bass guitar;
high-quality sound courtesy of my professional PA system (Bose L1 Model II with digital desk and Shure Beta 87 for my fellow tech geeks);
a miked-up cajon;
and I’ll even be lighting it like a proper gig.

There’ll be an iPad on a stand if you want to look up lyrics and chords, and I’ll jam with anyone who wants vox/guitar/harmonica/cajon/bodhran accompaniment.

Come and play, sing, jam: bring us your poetry or your performance art, or just come and enjoy the gorgeous space and the joy of the performers.
