Join Hebden Royd Town Council for a day of practical environmental conservation volunteering on High Hirst Woodmeadow.
This month's tasks include pruning fruit trees, weeding, mowing and mulching. Volunteers under the guidance of Hebden Royd Town Council's Local Environment Officer will use hand tools to manage vegetation on site, scythers are encouraged to attend.
Volunteers will receive a site, health and safety briefing and will be provided with the necessary personal protective equipment.
Volunteer numbers are capped to ensure that the work is carried out safely. Volunteering is open to those aged 16+, however those aged 16 and 17 years old will need to be supervised by a responsible adult who is also volunteering on the day.
In the event of inclement weather the activity will be postponed.

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and robust footwear, no open toed footwear such as sandals.
No dogs please as sharp tools will be in use and their safety cannot be guaranteed.
There is limited parking surrounding the site and volunteers are asked not to park on Sandy Gate and to walk, cycle or use public transport instead of driving.
