Crafts in the Valley - Fused Glass Winter Birds and Jewellery

Event added by Melanie Louise

This event is part of Festive Happy Valley

In the Winter Birds Workshop you will make three hanging bird decorations.  As an extra sparkly treat you can also make two pieces of dichroic glass jewellery (choose from any combination of two pieces – pendant, keyring, earring, brooch, ring, cufflinks) or make an extra bird.

You may choose to keep your glass creations up all year round, or they can be brought out at Christmas to add extra sparkle to your Christmas tree!  This workshop doesn’t involve any glass scoring or cutting, the bird shapes will be pre-cut, and ready for you to decorate with lots of colour and sparkle.   You will decorate your birds as you wish using top quality glass materials and exciting decorative techniques.  You will have access to a large range of stencils, coloured frits, stringers, metals for entrapment, stencils, glass jewels and much more!

Your finished glasswork will be available to collect 1-2 weeks later.

This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of fused glass.  I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups. They are enjoyed by art and craft lovers, beginners and more experienced crafters.  Many guests come to experience new art and craft forms, or to simply enjoy a creative day out.

Crafts in the Valley workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together.  Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting nice, friendly people!  I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings.  Gift Vouchers are available for all workshops.  The Winter Birds workshop is very suitable for beginners and children aged 8+.   Young people must be accompanied by an participating adult.

The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley.
