In this short, early evening summer concert, Hepton Singers will perform well-known and much loved pieces from the full span of the choral repertoire, from the serene tones of Palestrina through to a contemporary choral classic by the Norwegian-born Ola Gjeilo. The programme will include music from the English choral tradition, with works by Purcell, Stanford, Elgar and Vaughan Williams, as well as pieces by Anton Bruckner which mark the pinnacle of the European Romantic choral tradition. And there will also be some lesser-known, but equally stunning pieces in this summer musical offering.
