Director: Sophy Romvari | 2025 | Canada/Hungary | 90 mins
Eight-year-old Sasha is settling into her Hungarian family’s new life after their move to Vancouver Island in the 1990s when her older stepbrother, Jeremy begins acting out. Sasha watches on as her family tries to support Jeremy but nothing seems to help. This delicate and original film deals with the complexity of trying to understand our loved ones and how shifts in perspective change over time. A sensitive, beautiful study of family dynamics and grief that recalls Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun and Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell.
